Race the opera

The International Brazilian Opera (IBOC) is currently accepting applications from composers for a new opera project.

Composers must demonstrate knowledge of African-American and Native-American music, including Jazz, Gospel, and HipHop, as well as proficiency in the traditional orchestral and vocal notation for classical ensembles.

Composers from international and underrepresented backgrounds in classical music are encouraged to apply.

This is a paid commission. Strong collaborative skills are required.
