It will be a night of singing, dancing, and comedy sketches – a childhood dream of Davinia. The show features songs made famous by her favorite artists: Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Marilyn Monroe, and Judy Garland, who inspired her artistic dream. The evening offers a fabulous opportunity for those visiting NYC to taste the glitz and glamour of New York City’s theatre district.

On December 6, as a part of the International Brazilian Opera (IBOC) annual fundraiser “IBOC Dream,” Davinia will offer a preview of her solo show at LuxuNY (www.luxuny.com), a VIP location on a historic penthouse next to Bryant Park, Manhattan. These are two rare opportunities to catch the star in an intimate setting. (www.iboc.nyc/rsvp)

Davinia was born and raised on the island of Malta, nestled in the Mediterranean sea. From the moment she could talk, she was singing and putting on performances. Her undeniable talent led her to study at Tring Park School in London, which brought us stars such as Julie Andrews, Lily James, and Ella Henderson. After three years of vocational training in music, dance, and drama, Davina furthered her education at Vocal Tech College.

In Malta, Davinia became an overnight success. She lists as one of the top local artists on radio and streaming services. At 17 years old, she performed at the Bay Music Awards for an audience of 10,000+ people. Davinia ranked as Number 1 in the Top 10 Charts. The single “Betrayed” brought her to the Eurovision song contest, where critics hailed  Davinia as the “best newcomer,” “the girl with the husky voice.”

In 2014 she was urged by her fans to compete in the Eurovision song contest again, where she made it to the final with her hit song “Brand New Day.” Her performance won her the People’s Choice Award. Her commercial success continued across Maltese TV, including the most-watched local programs such as Xarabank, Hadd Ghalik, and TVM. Davinia was featured in Gwida magazine as their cover star three times.

Davinia’s success went beyond Malta. In the summer of 2016, she was the opening act for the “Isle of MTV,” where she opened for Wiz Khalifa, Jess Glynne, and Steve Aoki for an audience of 60,000+ people.

After her 21st birthday, she moved to Los Angeles. In LA, Davinia studied at Musicians Institute in Hollywood while performing shows at distinguished venues such as the Globe Theatre, Three Clubs, and a sold-out show at the legendary Viper Room. Davinia also continued to work with other LA artists and opened for B.o.B at Cal Poly Pamona University.

Davinia’s journey continued and took her back to Malta, where she reconnected with her roots. Back home, the radio singles “Perfectly” and “Cure” garnered national recognition and were featured on the Top 10 Charts. Davinia also tapped into her acting training and starred in the hit show “Davinia Does” in collaboration with Lovin Malta.

Back in New York City, Davinia enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she further developed her acting craft in the conservatory program and received a merit scholarship. At AADA, Davinia played the lead in Maxim Gorky’s “The Lower Depths,” directed by Lisa Milanazzo. Davinia graduated from AADA in May 2021 and got to work performing shows in NYC and Miami. She also filmed episodes for HBO Max’s new popular TV Show “And Just Like That.”

In 2022, Davinia continued to act and study the Barrow Group led by Lee Brock. Davinia landed the lead in “A Sketch of New York,” a comedy show performed at the Producers Club. It led to Davinia signing an Agency contract with The International Brazilian Opera Company (IBOC) and joining the NY-based nonprofit known for innovative repertoire from diverse artists. The organization currently sponsors her US Artist Visa. Davinia is now available in the USA for touring and private performances.
